November 8th 2014. After heading up to Charleston, IL a day early, we, 4EyeView and I, got well acquainted with the Zeta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. Even though we missed the probate, we were just in time to experience the turn-up at their house to celebrate the new ship that crossed over into Alpha land. Congrats Neos!
Saturday started off with a really dope breakfast at Lincoln Garden’s. If you live in Charleston or plan on visiting, I highly recommend that place! After breakfast, we headed over to the McAfee for sound-check and were able to check out some of the step-teams who were participating in the step-show that night. Immediately following, the Zeta Nu bruhs had a small tailgate before getting ready for the night, and I was able to learn some new strolls while bonding with the brotherhood.
If I took anything from being on this tour, it would probably be realizing how strong the bond between the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha really is. At each and every school I visited, the bruhs treated me as if I were their own family. From hospitality to straight “kicking it”, you wouldn’t have been able to tell I was an “outsider.” Enough of me rambling, check out the recap video below, brought to you by 4EyeViewFilms.
